– 600 g of medium semolina
– 200 g melted butter
– 4 tablespoons of sugar
– lukewarm water
– 500 g sweet dates
– 2 tablespoons orange blossom water
– 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
– 1 pinch of salt
– oil for frying
– 100 g of honey
Preparation of the recipe :
1) Prepare the dough with the semolina
- warm water.
Work it by crushing everything in his hands by incorporating the water gradually to obtain a homogeneous and smooth paste.
2) Make the date paste :
Pit the dates.
Add the cinnamon and orange blossom water.
3) Prepare two dough patties.
Put semolina so that they do not stick on the worktop.
Spread to obtain patties about 1 cm thick.
Cover one of them with the date preparation and cover it with the second one.
4) cut 6 cm lozenges.
5) COOKING :
Heat the cooking oil.
Fry the cakes in boiling oil to brown on each side.
Honey should be warm (liquid) in a large saucepan.
Dip the cakes cooked in honey.
Arrange them in a dish.
